About this Class:
Painting flowers in watercolor can be learned by anyone. This class is for you if you:
• have had some previous watercolor painting instruction
• would like to be able to paint flowers in watercolor
• would like to learn some easy techniques for making your flowers glow
• want more confidence and skill painting flowers simply and beautifully
This one-day, hands-on workshop provides a sequence of easy exercises designed to give you skill and success painting flowers. The class will focus on the spontaneous representation of flowers rather than an attempt at careful realistic representation. There will be a strong emphasis on the use of white space and composition. The workshop will also cover layout and composition, color mixing and blending for light, shade and shadow, brush techniques, graded washes, lost and found edges and more. No matter how much previous instruction you have had, this workshop will have you painting flowers simply and beautifully.
Bring your watercolor painting materials and some flowers to share—paint, palette, brush(s), No. 2 HB pencil, water container, cotton rag and watercolor paper. A few basic watercolor kits (one brush, a travel box of 12 watercolors) will be available for an additional $18 for those who need them.
Please indicate if you need the basic kit.
Supply fee: $4 supply fee paid to instructor
